Having commenced my career in the mining and resources industry some 23 years ago in a FIFO role, working a roster of 13 weeks away, 3 weeks home, and then spending 14 years in the Pilbara meeting my husband, starting and raising my family, I set about founding THE resources HUB to support, inspire and provide career and employment direction to others who are also in the same field or those who are looking for mining jobs (or the likes). As well as to support industry obtain valued and skilled talent for opportunities.
My calling for THE resource HUB was born after working for several recruitment agencies who lacked candidate and client support – to them it was always about the $$. So my little brainchild was to provide a ‘central hub’ for career development and support, employment opportunities and industry talent acquisition attraction in the resources sector including civil, construction, mining and the oil and gas industries, given my 23 experience in the industry.
It is a hub that gives personalised assistance to many including FIFO workers (my Husband being a FIFO employee in the industry himself) and companies alike.
Whilst becoming a wife and a mother of four in this type of transient lifestyle, I have first-hand experience in juggling a FIFO husband, work, businesses, clients and candidates and an all-encompassing (and rather busy) family life which extends a helping hand to those who are also having the same life experiences, through industry support and direction.
Just recently, I was very grateful to be given a chance to inspire others through a podcast as the guest being interviewed on ‘JUGGLING FIFO‘. Juggling FIFO is all about women sharing their colourful lives in the FIFO world. Juggling FIFO’s podcaster, Renee Coman, also experienced the ups and downs of living in the FIFO world. Through these podcasts, Renee bares the heart and soul of other women who has a story to share and inspire people.
Hear words of encouragement, insider tips and pieces of advice from me – a Mumma of 4, a FIFO Wife, a resource industry expert in the fields of career development, recruitment, talent management, and behaviours here.
